ccTLD (country code top-level domain)
In short: A two-letter domain extension for a country or territory, such as .uk, .de or .fr.
Each ccTLD sets its own rules and prices. For example, .uk and .co.uk are run by Nominet. Some ccTLDs, such as .io, are widely used outside their country.
Rules on transfers, privacy and expiry can differ from .com, so check the specific domain.
