Privacy notice
We collect as little as we can, never sell your data, and you can export or delete it yourself at any time.
Who we are
Serverlinx is run by Serverlinx LLC, 1309 Coffeen Ave STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: support@serverlinx.com.
Draft: this notice is being reviewed before launch, including our UK and EU representative details.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name if you give it or sign in with Google.
- Sign-in and security: passkeys (a public key only — never your fingerprint or face), an encrypted authenticator-app secret if you set one up, and a history of sign-ins (method, time, browser and a scrambled form of your IP address).
- Your quotes: the answers you give (what you need, who hosts you and what you pay) and any quotes you save or email to yourself.
- Renewal Radar: the domains, hosting, email and certificates you add, with their renewal dates and prices. For domains and certificates we look up public expiry information. If you add items before confirming your email, we hold them for up to 7 days, then delete them if you don't confirm. When a move with us is finished, we add your new plan so we can remind you before it renews; you can remove it.
- Clicks to hosts: when you click “Go to” a host, we record the plan, the time and a click reference, so the host can confirm a purchase came from us (this is how your free move is proven).
- Moves: if you book a move, the details needed to do it. Any passwords you share are encrypted on your device and deleted 7 days after your move.
- Technical data: essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your currency, and security logs. We store IP addresses only in a scrambled (hashed) form.
Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To give you quotes, run your account and Renewal Radar, and move your website — to provide the service you asked for (contract).
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and prove free-move eligibility — our legitimate interests.
- To publish anonymous averages of what people pay for hosting, domains and email (for example “What people really pay”), using the prices you give us — our legitimate interests. A figure is only published when at least 20 people contribute to it, and never per person or per host. We also count how many people reach each step of a sign-up, without storing who they are.
- To send marketing (tips and offers) — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep records the law requires, such as invoices — legal obligation.
International transfers
Serverlinx LLC is a US company and our servers are in the UK and EU. Where your data is handled outside the UK or EU, we use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account and Radar items: while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove it and purge it within 30 days.
- Passwords shared for a move: deleted automatically 7 days after the move (or straight away if you cancel).
- Invoices: as long as tax law requires.
- Security logs and email delivery records: up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Most of this you can do yourself in Account settings (“Export my data” and “Delete account”). You can also object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw marketing consent at any time.
If you're in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority. US residents can request access and deletion under applicable state laws. Email support@serverlinx.com and we'll respond within one month.
