Transfer lock
In short: A setting that stops your domain being moved to another registrar.
Keep the lock on normally; it protects against hijacking. Turn it off only when you're ready to transfer.
For generic domains, a registrar may refuse a transfer within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.
