Hosting glossary

Billing term

In short: How long you pay for in one go: monthly, yearly, or several years up front.

Hosts often tie their lowest monthly figure to their longest billing term. A price shown 'per month' on a 48-month term means paying for all 48 months on day one.

Longer terms delay the renewal jump but lock you in. Shorter terms cost more per month but let you leave easily.
